I believe Auburn deserves a shot at the national title but, if the latest BCS rankings are any indication, they are being squeezed (no pun intended) out of the picture. The BCS is never going to screw USC (regardless of that joke of a league they play in) because they screwed them last year (when they were easily the best team), while Oklahoma seems to be in a good position thanks to their coach questioning the media’s romance with Auburn. Never mind the fact they have easily been one of the better teams this year. I hope it gets screwed up again. The BCS is on the edge of extinction, and it knows it. If you had Auburn left out of the mix, that might be the final death knell for that stupid system and we will say hello to a 4 or 8 team playoff, which I think would be best.

Now, concerning Alabama: I think Shula has gotten a bum deal from the fans. Yes, Bama has lost three straight to the Tigers (um, folks, Bama is on probation! AUburn isn’t. Of course they’re the better program right now!) and Bama has yet to win a game at Tuscaloosa since the game went back there (that is quite sad seeing as how Bama couldn’t beat Auburn in Jordan-Hare at first) but this team won 6 games without its top two offensive players. Hell, if Hudson or Croyle doesn’t go down, this team wins 8 games easy. I think Bama fans (who are routinely a buncha bastards) should chill out, give Shula a chance, and enjoy the basketball season because Alabama has one hell of a team this season.

I agree with you about most of the Alabama fans, but then there are the rational fans, (few and far between, I know) that understand the slump bama has been going through, and really through no fault of their own. Damn, that was a long sentence, I have second grade english teachers who would have hit me for something like that. Anyway…

I will say this, and I will say this only once… Cry your little heart out for Notre Dame this weekend, because right now, it seems that may be our only chance, and a slim one at that.
