File Sharing Software Developers Liable? 1

File Sharing has lost a major battle, and I for one can not agree with the justices on this one. They have stated that the software developers and the ones who operate and manage filesharing networks are responsible for illegal activities handled on their networks. I believe this is a gross injustice. The filesharing networks do provide a great resource to those on the internet.

Making the network illegal files travel on responsible is about as sane as determining the automakers that produce vehicles in which drug dealers drive are also a responsible party in the war on drugs.

I haven’t used P2P sites for illegal file sharing in years, and I don’t plan on starting back anytime soon, however, taking away something (which is in effect what the supreme court has just done) that I use often because there happens to be illegal activity associated with it is absurd. If we want to jump on that bandwagon lets also hold the federal government responsible for having an illegal income tax. Lets be honest, the 16th amendment was properly ratified. Lets also hold George W. Bush responsible for the illegal activities that have taken place in Iraq, because it was he that opened the conduit for war on foreign soil.

Might as well make educators responsible for the shooting deaths in schools. We should probably not forget to make priests, rabbis, and other religious leaders responsible for every conflict every started because of the three letter word God.

To the justices of the Supreme Court of the United States of America, you have just ruled on something that has marginal benefit for large corporations, and significant losses to the private citizen.

Thanks for being such a pal to the little guys.

Sincerely,

John Tracy

The Greatest American pt. 2

Martis at work made a valid point on the people who were voted in the top 5 of the Greatest American. Americans respect people with money and power. Very true. So maybe I should be thankful that Martin Luther King Jr. even made it to the top 5. If it weren’t for some people in having the same values as me Bill Gates would have been in the top 5. This also lets me know why so many presidents made the list.

My top 5 that I promised from my Sunday Brunch podcast yesterday…
1) Martin Luther King Jr.
2) Willis Haviland Carrier (inventor of the Air Conditioner)
3) Thomas Edison
4) xxxxxx
5) xxxxxx

Haven’t made my mind up yet on 4 and 5. Number 2 is still in the air though (please excuse the pun) I live in the south, so Air Conditioning is VERY IMPORTANT.

The Greatest American? 5

So I was watching The Greatest American on the Discover Channel tonight and I was utterly disgusted that Martin Luther King Jr. didn’t make the top honors. Number 3 not bad, but should have been number 1. George W. Bush should have never gotten as high as he did at number 6. BUT RONALD FUCKING REGAN????? Did I miss something? How in the world did he make number 1? ugh! Abraham Lincoln I think would have been a much better choice. This is crap.

I will never get excited about the voting for a number one in this type of category again. Screw it.
Ronald Regan… Christ, help me now.

2 Cheeseburger Value Meal Secret 2

Apparently it still exists. This guy got nostalgic for The McDonalds 2 CheeseBurger Value Meal I guess, and asked for two cheeseburgers, a medium fry, and a drink, and they manager asked him if he wanted the extra value meal. He asked the manager what number it was, and the manager said they didn’t have a number for it anymore, but there is still a button on the cash registers. Just ask for it. I am going to try this sometime soon.

Billy Bob Thorton is Crazy 1

I got to sleep in late today, and have breakfast at 1:00. I am thouroughly convinced breakfast was meant to be eaten after noon. Lunch should be eaten at around 5:00, and dinner, if eaten at all should be done at 8:00 with a bottle of beer.
With that said. After I woke up today and had breakfast I watch some movies on TBS and then went to mow my grandmother’s lawn. After my heat stroke, I finished things up with her lawn and talked with her for a while.
Important things… Literature, classifcations of plants, why Billy Bob Thorton is crazy.
Now I am writing here watch TLC’s DryDock. It is the same ship that was drydocked in Freeport Grand Bahamas when we were there. It is an amazing sight to see it on TV because the closest we got to it was probably about a quarter of a mile away.
I am thinking of doing another Sunday Brunch tonight. Maybe.

Sure why not

1. Think of the first word that comes to mind when you think of me.

2. Do a Google Image Search for that word.

3. Reply to this post with one of the pictures on the first page of results — don’t tell me the word.

4. Put this in your own blog so that I can do the same.
