Google Talk

Google Talk is out! This is Google’s answer to Instant Messaging and VoIP. All you need is a Gmail address, and the good thing about that is, even if you don’t, Google just opened up Gmail today and is now open to the public. If you wish to try the serivice simply download the client from Google at talk.google.com
You can add my name if you don’t have anybody at the moment to add as I will be keeping the client up on all of my computers for the next several days to test, and to add people to my buddy lists. Or friends list or whatever you want to call it.
One of the nice things about this is Google Talk is open source, and in the EULA they even say you ARE allowed to use the service with an open source client. This will prove to be one of the best moves they could make, allowing anybody to create their own client, or add-on for other clients.

My username for google talk is longwoodtrail
