According to the Press-Register, Nancy Worley, the outgoing Secretary of the State, is claiming that her office was bugged. Worley said she doesn’t know who placed the bugs in her office and the office of the department’s lawyer.
When she called upon the ABI to investigate, they told Worley they were unable to find any devices of the such in her, or the lawyer’s office.
What makes me think she is crazy, paranoid, or just a shallow attempt at a publicity stunt, is because she is withholding additional information on the incident because she wants to put this into a tell-all book about her term as Secretary of State. The other part of this story that starts to get fishy is why she didn’t initially give this information to the press, instead deciding to send this out in a Christmas letter to friends. Why would send it to them? Because they are more likely to buy the book of course.
In her letter she wrote,
“Unfortunately, I was outspent five to one, and attacked with lies and half-truths for years — it’s hard to win against these odds — but the book I intend to write will ‘tell the truth,’ ‘right some wrongs,’ and ‘set the record straight.’ I have given my notes and tapes to two different people, just in case someone tries to ‘stop’ me from writing the book (justified paranoia if you had walked in my shoes the last four years!)”
Right, well, I will certainly be the first in line to buy her book, just so I can take pictures of me with the book to draw those funny clever magic marker mustaches.
