I had so many things going on today, I didn’t know where to begin. I know where to begin with this post, and that is at the beginning… I woke up at 5:00 this morning. Yes, take that statement in, chug some coffee, and then realize how crazy early that is. Now, before your eyes spin to the back of your head, let me also shock you with this statement: I do this everyday. On to what actually happened.
I arrived at work, opened all the doors, started the systems, checked the phones, read my email, worked on my reports, and before I know it, 10:00 has rolled around. I was worried because I had a test due in my Java class, and I hadn’t finished all of the work, or the program that had to be written. I went ahead and finished just about everything else I had to do at work, and around 1:00 I decided to leave a little early so I could finish my work for school in time.
I walk out to my jeep, and to my shocked crazy amazement, it didn’t crank. Not even a click. Well, there was a click, but not much of one. The next turn, nothing. Of course, I don’t know a lot about cars, but I know enough to know enough. I assume the battery is dead, maybe a bad cell, probably from the bad alternator from two weeks ago that had to be replaced. Great! I was supposed to be at home, working on my program.
Erika was generous, she drove me around town to get a new battery, replace the old one, and the jeep cranks again! The unfortunate bit of this, I didn’t finish getting the jeep working until after 4:00. I now only had a couple of hours to get all of the work done instead of 5 hours. It worked out in the end, but that doesn’t mean I got enough time. I felt like my work could have used more time. I guess it won’t matter now. I just hope my grades come back good, and that my jeep cranks tomorrow morning.
