Vanity Searches

I think it is funny when I see vanity searches taken place from google, or another search agent (I mean really, does anybody really use anything besides google?). The searches for my site pop up in my statistics page, and every now and again, I see people I know. I assume for the most part they are searching themselves, but then again, it could be others trying to find them. Take a look…Picture 3.pngPicture 4.pngPicture 5.png

  1. Note my latest entry in which I mention that my mother periodically googles me. She’s creepy.

  2. Yeah, I saw that, I just thought it was funny how my friends’ names keep showing up in my search statistics. By-the-who, when are you going to update again?

  3. Funny you should ask, as it correlates to the subject of all this who-ha:

Blogspot doesn’t allow “friends only” entries in the way that livejournal does.

Essentially, I want to update, and I decided long ago that ofonesown would be my “innocuous” journal full of needless, harmless information, friendly for all eyes to read… but sadly nothing in my life is needless, harmless, or innocuous… and as such, I don’t want to put anything personal on the interweb that can be googled.

Take for instance the fact that fifteen minutes ago (literally) I was in La Jolla drinking copious amounts of gin and talking about the patheticness of Christians. Is that information that should be privy to anyone capable of using google? No…

… but as soon as I hit “submit comment” … it will be.
