Pictures from the Riverfront

I searched for quite some time today for the perfect tree to take some pictures. I think I may have found it. Out on Woodly Road just past the city, after driving past all of the moss trees. (For those of you that live in Montgomery, if you haven’t been out this way, I highly recommend it, you won’t believe there is a road with nothing but moss on either side of the road for as far as the eye can see)

Anyway, it looks like I will have to do some talking to the owners of some of the farms out that way. I will need to get on their property to get the good shots. I was a little disappointed because I wanted to take pictures right then. What was I to do? I went downtown and took the cliche sunset shots. You can see them after the cut.

  1. Cliche or not, these photos are beautiful! Did you use some sort of HDR treatment on these? I’ve played around HDR a time or two, but never liked my results. I have a feeling it doesn’t work with all pictures though.

  2. Yes, they are both HDRs. I am not doing anything fancy on either, just a standard -2,0,+2 bracket. I am then throwing them in to photomatix, and then generating a tone mapped image, throwing that into Light Room to color correct and reduce noise.

Ok, now that I have re-read all of that, I realize that is fancy. But not overboard, just my general HDR workflow.
