At least you don’t have kids

Here is a video from Fox and Friends, or was it Saturday Night Live? I can’t tell, you might have to let me know for sure. Here they are talking about a PETA protest against KFC while the “reporters” are eating from a bucket of KFC chicken.

They go on to talk about how environmentalist are so crazy they put the environment before humanity. Well yeah, without the environment there is no humanity. Thank god this guy doesn’t have kids after the comments he made about “Liberals”

Vote no on Proposition 8

Apple is doing it. Well, at least they gave money to foundations against it.

Apple Inc. is donating $100,000 to fight Proposition 8, which aims to end same-sex marriage in California by amending the constitution to define marriage as between a man and a woman.

“Apple was among the first California companies to offer equal rights and benefits to our employees’ same-sex partners, and we strongly believe that a person’s fundamental rights — including the right to marry — should not be affected by their sexual orientation,” the company said in a statement posted on its Web site Friday.

Apple joins Google, which came out publicly against Prop. 8 last month. Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page reportedly have donated a combined $140,000 to fight the measure.

In revealing its support, Google officials voiced similar points, saying the company sees the issue as one of equality and is opposed to the elimination of fundamental rights.

“While we respect the strongly held beliefs that people have on both sides of this argument, we see this fundamentally as an issue of equality. We hope that California voters will vote no on Proposition 8 — we should not eliminate anyone’s fundamental rights, whatever their sexuality, to marry the person they love,” Brin said.

It is not common practice for either company to take a stand on political measures. It remains to be seen what effect the move might have on Proposition 8 supporters, who might avoid doing business with companies that oppose the measure.

What not to say…

I can’t tell if he was agreeing with Obama, not agreeing with Obama, or disagreeing with the entire state of Pennsylvania. Not really sure at all now.

Undecided

David Sedaris, on undecided voters:

To put them in perspective, I think of being on an airplane. The flight attendant comes down the aisle with her food cart and, eventually, parks it beside my seat. “Can I interest you in the chicken?” she asks. “Or would you prefer the platter of shit with bits of broken glass in it?” To be undecided in this election is to pause for a moment and then ask how the chicken is cooked.

Tim Russert dead at 58

Tim Russert

I learned today that Tim Russert died. This is sad news. I have loved his political coverage and of course sunday morning talk on Meet the Press. In such a critical year in politics, he will be missed in a new land of talking heads without facts. Mr. Russert always had the facts.
